Our cotton placemats and table runners are made by Stella Lamon of Sevierville, TN. Stella is the 6th generation in her family to weave on a loom. This craft has been passed down from mother to daughter for over 150 years. When the mountains of east Tennessee were being settled, weaving was a prized skill, for it enabled women to be able to trade high quality items for other things they needed. Stella creates her own warp for her loom, weaves each item with care and detail, and hand ties the fringes. Stella continues to preserve the craft of weaving by passing on the skill to her children and grand-children. RED AND NATURAL HONEYCOMB PLACEMAT
